I am the Music Director of Tête à Tête, an opera company with its sights set far into the future. We’ve commissioned, produced and premiered over 100 operas, giving work to many hundreds of opera makers. We’ve also hosted, mentored, and empowered others to make almost 600 new operas in our annual Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival.

Tête à Tête is working with composers in the North East, helping to create a scene of new opera writing, in partnership with Royal Northern Sinfonia and The Glasshouse ICM.

In Summer 2025, we presented dates of the Festival outside London for the first time, in fact opening the 2025 Festival at Alphabetti Theatre in Newcastle, presenting six short new operas.
